We offer Rope Access training at Levels 1, 2, and 3. Rope Access is a method of working in locations with challenging or difficult access. Ropes are used as fall protection systems and are considered an equally safe method of access and work positioning as collective protection measures.
Rope Access is a method of working in locations with challenging or difficult access. Ropes are used as fall protection systems and are considered an equally safe method of access and work positioning as collective protection measures. Rope Access is standardized according to NS 9600 and the methods described within the standard.
Rope Access involves working at height and often includes physically and mentally demanding tasks, sometimes under challenging conditions.
Instructor
Rope Access personnel must not suffer from a fear of heights.
Rope Access work is physically demanding, and operators should be in normal good physical condition and free from injuries or limitations that may affect their mobility.
A thorough understanding of equipment, methods, and the techniques used in Rope Access is essential, and regular practice and repetition of these methods are necessary.
Rope Access personnel must maintain a high level of awareness regarding Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE). Solid knowledge of climbing and rescue techniques is required to ensure emergency preparedness within the Rope Access team.

Prerequisites / Admission Requirements
Applicants must be in good physical and mental health. A valid medical certificate is required and must not be older than two years (general requirement for all levels).
Level 1 (TT1) -Must be at least 18 years of age.
Level 2 (TT2)
• Must be at least 20 years of age.
• Minimum 500 logged Rope Access hours.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Level 1 technician.
Level 2 Model 2 (Direct Entry TT2) - Must be at least 20 years of age.
The candidate must be able to document one of the following qualifications:
• Minimum 600 hours of rope-based work experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an instructor in mountain climbing courses in accordance with the Norwegian Mountaineering Standard.
• Certified and trained mountain guide through UIAGM.
• Member of, and actively involved in, a mountain rescue team affiliated with NARG.
Level 3 (TT3)
• Must be at least 22 years of age.
• Minimum 700 logged hours as a Level 2 technician.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Level 2 technician.
Duration
• Levels 1-3: 7 days, including examination conducted by a CertaSoft examiner.
Recertification (All Levels)
• 4 days, including examination conducted by CertaSoft.
Additional Information
• A minimum of 3 participants is required for the course to run. If this requirement is not met, the course may be rescheduled.
• Cancellation 14 days or more before the course start date: 100% refund of the course fee.
• Cancellation 13-7 days before the course start date: 50% of the course fee will be charged.
• Cancellation 6-0 days before the course start date, or failure to attend: 100% of the course fee will be charged.
All course participants are insured throughout the course when attending training organized by KAEFER.
