Efficient cold system inspection & maintenance

Ensuring facility against corrosion and maintaining facility integrity is a key priority for our customers. One of the biggest challenges in inspecting and maintaining cold pipes and surfaces below 0°C is the risk of moisture forming when the insulation is removed. When this moisture freezes, it creates ice layers, which is an irreversible process as long as the facility is in normal operation. The ice makes it impossible to install new insulation and encapsulation – therefore, such tasks are usually carried out during shutdowns – intensive periods of work with many people involved, short deadlines, and tight schedules. By using DPRS, all of this work can be moved out of shutdowns so that other work can be focused and prioritized, thereby reducing the size of the shutdown.

Renovating Cold Pipes During Operation

KAEFER's patented Dew Point Reduction System (DPRS) delivers ultra-dry air directly into the work area (habitat), enabling the renovation, inspection, and maintenance of pipes and tanks at low temperatures—without ice formation. This system provides customers with greater flexibility to plan and prioritize shutdown activities more effectively, optimizing workflows. Additionally, DPRS can be used to remove existing ice and is particularly well-suited for cold media such as LPG and LNG.
