Aker BP has awarded KAEFER a contract for the offshore maintenance of it’s operated installations.
This is the longest contract KAEFER has ever received, and with options it could last up to 17 years.
The contract includes the full range of KAEFER’s services and will provide work for around 350 offshore employees, as well as many onshore positions.
KAEFER is very pleased and grateful to be chosen as Aker BP’s partner, and thus to be part of the journey toward the ambitious goal of becoming the world’s most efficient operator.
KAEFER has provided ISO services to Aker BP since 2016. The new contract allows the possibility for the collaboration to potentially continue until 2042.
Initially, the scope of work will increase by including the Edvard Grieg platform. Later, it will expand to include new installations related to Yggdrasil and Valhall PWP.
Aker BP collaborates closely with its suppliers under the “OneTeam” philosophy and has ambitious efficiency goals, including how work is planned and executed. During the bidding process, KAEFER was encouraged to propose changes and improvements.
“The bidding process has been different, demanding, and interesting,” said Sigve Aabø, the Director of Business Development. “We have been challenged in various areas, both technically and commercially.”
There has been great anticipation surrounding this award within the ISO industry, and it was confirmed this week that KAEFER emerged victorious.
“This is fantastic news for us,” said CEO Bård Bjørshol. “We are proud and humbled that the customer recognizes our employees by choosing KAEFER as a supplier. We see this as strong acknowledgment of the work our employees have done since we first received the contract in 2016. The contract will employ an estimated 400 people and provide KAEFER and our employees with stable and predictable conditions for years to come.”
“This is proof of our ability to consistently deliver quality, our strong focus on HSE and the good results we achieve, our willingness to adapt, and our capacity to plan and execute varied and complex operations. Team spirit is one of our strongest values. I am convinced that we are once again trusted to be part of ‘OneTeam’ with Aker BP precisely because our employees stand together as a strong and competent team. Along with several significant awards recently, this order means that our 1,900 employees in Norway now need more great colleagues,” concludes Bjørshol.
