Lukasz Zadanski has been an important part of KAEFER since 2008.
He started as a scaffolder and quickly transitioned into the offshore industry, working on platforms such as Heimdal and Statfjord. After working on most of KAEFER’s installations, he spent the past nine years working regularly at Ula. He has now taken a new step in his career as a quality inspector at Mongstad.
A role of responsibility and insight
“As a quality inspector, I use everything I learned as a scaffolder and more,” says Lukasz.
The role involves technical calculations, wind load assessments, and close collaboration with operators during the planning phase.
“We’re involved in the entire process, from start to finish. It’s all about safety—for personnel and the entire facility.”
Safety in practice
Lukasz and his colleagues thoroughly inspect the scaffolding digitally and physically.
“Sometimes we find deviations, and then we have to act immediately. It’s not just about personal safety; it’s also about protecting the entire facility,” he says.
Accurate calculations are especially important for suspended structures and wind-exposed scaffolding.
Passion for the technical
Lukasz is truly excited by technical challenges.
“I love challenges,” he says. I enjoy working with complex structures, chains, and load calculations. After 17 years in the industry, it’s the unique tasks that capture my interest the most.”
A workplace that inspires
Although the transition from offshore to onshore wasn’t guaranteed, Lukasz has had a very positive experience at Mongstad.
“The food is good, the environment is great, and management and workers cooperate closely and effectively. We are one team.”
Pride and motivation
Lukasz finds the most joy in his daily work from the responsibility he carries. He emphasizes good communication and mutual respect when working with operators.
“We’re not the police. We’re here to support.”
